  1. Sounds about right.  This would be the average... and taking into account deductions, credits, etc that 'families' are allowed.  

    My husband and I would come in a bit lower than that since we do not have any children, and therefore have no deductions for them... which in turn causes us to pay a bit more tax.


  2. Much of depends on where in Alberta you live and the the type of job you have.

    According to Stats Canada the median overall for an Albertan's wage after tasxes was $ 43,964. Compare that to Canada's overall median wage which is $ 41,401

    Therefore if one was to assume that both are working at the median wage then it would be well over the $80,000 mark.
