Liverpool FC midfielder, Alberto Aquilani, is on his way back to the English Premier League and the player is looking to offer his services to the English side once more. Aquilani came to Turin last year in August on a loan transfer deal which expired this
year in May.
The midfielder is keen to go back to his parent outfit. While giving an interview to Sky Sport Italia, the Italian said:
“I’m returning to Liverpool with great enthusiasm and I have no problem with it. It’s not true that I don’t want to return to the Premiership.”
The 26-year-old started the season in good fashion but as the team tumbled down the Serie A table, the player lagged consistency. The team lost crucial points to the weakest outfits in the league and eventually ended up at the 7th
position, missing out on European football action for the second consecutive year.
“We began the season very well at Juventus. Perhaps too much was expected of the side though and our limits were then exposed. Luigi Delneri paid the price for everyone else. He wasn’t to blame for anything in particular,” said Aquilani.
Juve got the Italian midfielder from Liverpool on a loan transfer and reserved the rights to buy him outright at the end of the season. The price quoted by the Reds was in the region of 15 million Euros and the Lady Killers were keen on keeping the midfielder.
The Turin giants repeatedly guaranteed the player and his agent that they would keep Aquilani for the upcoming season. For his part, the midfielder was also more than keen to stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 to be a part of the Juve squad.
However, when the deal was set to expire, Juve offered 10 million Euros to the Reds which, a bid that was rejected straightaway by the English side. The Reds coach, Kenny Dalglish, revealed that his club will not let go of the player for anything less than
the quoted price tag and as a result, Juve didn’t find a bargain they were looking for. Aquilani now takes a plane back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
