Alberto Aquilani’s poor performance threatens his role at Juventus FC – Serie A update
Italian footballer, Alberto Aquilani, may have his days at Juventus numbered. He might also be missing out on his place in the national team due to his poor output and performances on the field.
The central midfielder joined Juve on loan from the Premier League outfit, Liverpool FC, during last years’ summer transfer window, on 21st August. The Old Lady got the player for one season at Serie A with the right to make the move permanent at the end of the 2010/11 season.
The midfielder has been struggling for good form lately in the Serie A and has not been able to put up a notable show for the Juve management. Recently, Aquilani sustained a muscle injury in his right leg during the team’s training sessions and has missed out the Old Lady’s crucial clashes against Bologna and Inter Milan.
The Italian national team boss, Cesare Prandelli, who is also a former Juventus player, is giving seconds thoughts to the selection of Aquilani in the team and the midfielder is certainly going to miss out the Euro 2012 qualifier game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313.
Juve have been reported to have signed the player permanently in the summer transfer window from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. The news seems to be nothing more than a rumour now, as the Old Lady’s General Manager, Beppe Marotta, has made interesting statements to the press. Morotta reckons the player to be too expensive in terms of both the transfer fee and wages. He also added that it will be sensible of Juve if they don’t sign the loaned player because he has failed to make an impact at the Italian outfit.
Juventus are now reported to be more inclined towards the AC Milan play maker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Pirlo-c5702, whose contract is set to expire at the Red and Blacks at the end of this season. Juve are looking forward to make a move to lure the midfielder to the Stadio Olimpico di Torino during the upcoming summer transfer window.
