Alberto Gilardino’s agent lashes out at Fiorentina president – Serie A news
Italy international and former AC Milan striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Gilardino-c4324, was constantly being linked with a move away from the club this summer. According to reports, Genoa and cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain were serious buyers eyeing the signature.
Director of sport at La Viola, Pantaleo Corvino, had hinted that Gilardino had a precontract agreement with Genoa and the Fiorentina held on to the star by refusing to sell.
In the wake of such comments, the player’s agent has come out very strongly in defence of his client.
“I was astounded to read what Corvino said about a supposed agreement, even a written one, between my client and Genoa,” said agent Giuseppe Bozzo.
This is the first time Gilardino has made headline for a wrong reason. His transfer from Parma to AC Milan was an amicable one, and so was his switch to Florence following a poor spell at San Siro.
“I am amazed that, considering how professional Gilardino is, someone could even think of such a thing. Even expecting us to deny such an absurd claim was pointless.” The agent went on.
While the Azzurri attacker was not available to comment, owing to his inclusion in Cesare Prandelli’s squad that faced Faroe Island and would face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Slovenia-c3008 on Tuesday, the agent has taken it on himself to clear the air before the target man return to the outfit.
“I repeat what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, namely that he is happy to wear the Viola jersey and to stay in Florence.”
