i originaly had 2 albino sharks and 2 cory's but because the sharks constantly fought i took 1 to another tank (the more aggresive one)

i have since added an electric yellow to the mix, and it has been all good.

but the bullied shark has become more aggresive now and nipping one of the cory's i have no room to relocate him :S what to do???

  1. Your albino "sharks" (I imagine you have albino rainbow sharks, actually cyprinids related to fish like danios) are highly territorial, hence the fighting, 1 to a tank is the rule for this fish. It can be territorial towards other bottom dwellers such as innocent corys.

I think you need to rethink your tank.

The electric yellow shouldn't be in there, these fish should be kept in african cichlid set ups only, they are not community fish, and need different water conditions to your other fish, hard water and a high pH.

  2. i would get one of the special mini tanks (you put baby fish in it) then you get the shark shut the lid and then put it in the tank with all the other fish the mini tank floats at the top. i did this to one of my sharks for a few days  and he eventually got better

  3. Hi :-)

My partner keeps the aggressive fish whilst i tend to settle on social fish.  What we can tell you is, ALL sharks are territorial.  For example he has Albino and Silver.  Albinos will work in harmony as long as they have there OWN hiding space, if they have there own space they do not get in the way of each other.  A good way to quit there behaviour is to redo the tank.  I know you probably thing this is nuts.  By changing the tank i.e moving things to create more hiding spots, you are in actual fact confusing the fish so they have to go and find a new home, this breaks the territory barrier as at this point they have nothing to be territotial about.  If you do this they will find there own spot and touch wood get along nicely after this.

I would recommend doing this also when you introduce newer larger fish to the tank, little red tailed sharks.

    Hope this helps :-)
