The Spanish duo are expected to sign contract extensions sooner rather than later as Jose Mourinho tries to bolster his defensive ranks during this summer transfer window.
Last season Real Madrid won the Spanish La Liga and managed to reach the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League. However, despite such a successful season, there is no doubt that the Spanish giants were vulnerable in defence.
Sergio Ramos and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973, injured for most of the season, Mourinho decided to play Ramos in the centre-back role and the Spaniard was able to impress.
However, Mourinho still doesn’t have a first-choice replacement in the right-back position as Alvaro Arbeloa was not impressive during the Spanish La Liga.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652 Albiol was also benched for most of the season. Two seasons ago the Spaniard made a few appearances for the Spanish giants, but with Carvalho joining Real Madrid, Albiol lost his place in the team and that is the reason why he was not considered to
be a first-choice defender.
Jose Mourinho is now planning to add to his defensive ranks during this summer transfer window, but Alvaro Arbeloa and Raul Albiol are both expected to sign contract extensions with the Spanish club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Arbeloa-c5282 impressed with his defensive performances for the Spanish national team during the Euro 2012. That is the reason why Mourinho would be willing to keep him in the team as Madrid currently do not have a natural right-back player except him.
However, Raul Albiol is probably going to be a benched player once again. The Spaniard will not be playing for Real Madrid for most of the season and that’s because http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 and Pepe have managed to form a strong partnership in the centre of defence.
The contracts of both these defensive players are expiring in 2014 and that is the reason why Madrid will be willing to give them contract extensions.
It has been reported that Real Madrid are now planning on giving both these players their contract extensions. While Arbeloa is going to provide the team with a first-choice right-back, Albiol will definitely be aiding the team from the bench, especially
with Ramos and Pepe fully fit to play for Los Blancos.
