Alcatraz island tours sold out online but can I buy at ticketbooth?

Now I want to go to alcatraz with my fiancee when we go on vacation. Now we want to go to alcatraz on sunday or monday which is the 17 and 18th but online it says that the tickets are sold out for those dates. Does that mean I just can't reserve them online or does that mean when I actually show up to the both they will say it is sold out for the day? They do tours every 1/2 hour so how could it be sold out that quick?

First you have to make sure you have the right tour.  Some tours just go around the island, but never TO it.   The link below is the actual company that goes to the island.  I checked and there were still some available on Monday, but Sunday was sold out.

If you can't get them in advance, they may have tickets that become available due to various reasons such as a cancellation.  While still not great you would have a better chance of getting there as early as possible each day to see if any opened up.
