  1. Any alcoholic beverage with an alcohol volume of 75% or higher (150 proof) is flammable. That means only certain rum like bacardi 151 or vodka like everclear.

  2. OK, first you're using the word "Alcohol" wrong.

Alcohol refers to any organic compound with an -OH attached.  Since it's organic, you'll encounter things with hydrogen and carbon.

There are many alcohols, all of them are potentially flammable.  It depends on concentrations, temperatures, pressure and the atmosphere the alcohol is in.

For example, standard rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol.  It's highly flammable at 70%, and is also sold at 90%.  You can use it to start a charcoal grill instead of lighter fluid (in fact, I would reccomend this over lighter fluid).

Now, the alcohol you had in mind was Ethanol.  Remember that the FlexFuel vehicles can run on E85 fuel, and all our gas cars actually run on E10 in the summer.  That means 85% ethanol, or 10% ethanol, respectively.  Ethanol is what is in *every* alcoholic beverage, from beer and wine to vodka and rum.  Now, if your gas runs on it, do you think it's flammable?

As it turns out, beer and wine will not catch fire.  You need a distilled drink before it can became flammable.  Depending on the application, brandy can catch a flame if you are cooking with it on a gas stove.  But to really catch a flame simply by taking the drink, putting it in a cup and sticking a match there, you need to have atleast a 50% ABV (100 proof) drink.  Much under that and there's too much water to support combustion.  You may be able to catch 40% ABV, 80 proof, drinks on fire, but this might need a little help.  For example, a wide surface area or a stove/bonfire rather than a match.  Usually when we cook with 13.5% wine, it does not catch fire, but the alcohol evaporates.  It's in too low a concentration to support combustion.

I have successfully used 100 proof vodka to support combustion.  Bacardi 151 is designed for show, meaning a waiter is supposed to light it on fire, for effect.  Bacardi wouldn't exactly reccomend you drink 151 straight.  In fact, at 95% ethanol (Everclear 190) the alcohol will actually denature proteins.  You run a risk of damaging your mouth, esophagus, and stomach by drinking Everclear straight.  Once mixed with enough non-alcoholic drinks to bring the ABV down to a safer level, that danger goes away.

  3. im pretty sure all alcohol is flamible.

but im not very "alcohold knowledgable"

  4. There are thousands of different drinks. Only the ones with a fairly hight alcohol content will burn. For example, beer does not burn, the acohol is too weak, but whiskey and vodka burn just fine.
