Alcohol content?

Question

What is the % alcohol in one Long Island Iced Tea? I know that they are strong, because I drink them all the time when I go out. I am just curious as to how much alcohol is actually in one. Thanks!

Depends how much liquor the bartender puts in the drink. The liquor used in a long island(rum,vodka, gin, tequila, triple sec)is 80 proof or 40%(except the triple sec has a lower alcohol content.)

It depends on the amount of ice, and the amount of rum and the brand of rum that is used to make your LI iced tea. Rum alcohol % differs by brand much more than Vodka, Gin, and the other key ingredient Tequila. So, safe to say if you have a tall glass with minimal ice, LI iced teas can be closert o 40% alcohol content.
