I can't understand why baby products are made with alcohol. Please share with me your favourite alcohol free baby products which can be bought in the USA. Please also include where do you usually buy / order them. Also please if your baby has an eczema, let me know what products do you use and what works best for you. Many thanks.

  1. CETAPHIL LOTION..ANY GROCERY STORE, WALMART, DRUG STORE..I DON'T USE ANY BABY PRODUCTS ANYMORE EXCEPT BABY AVEENO BATH BECAUSE IT DOESN'T BURN THE EYES..EVERYTHING ELSE ONLY SMELLS GOOD

  2. jim bean

  3. My daughter uses "Hamilton eczema cream" and it has no alcohol. Im from Australia, not sure if available in the US though

  4. The eucerin cream is what the doc prescribed to my baby with eczema and it has worked wonderful!!!!  After 6 months of my daughter having it (bc my doctor thought it was a ring worm and was giving the wrong cream) we have used it for about 5 days now and the rash is pretty much gone!!!!

  5. I think all babies enjoy a non-alcoholic near-beer every now and then.  I believe Gerber makes one.

  6. Eucerin Calming Cream is a great treatment for an eczema flare. You can buy it at most grocery stores.

    I hope this helps!

  7. Alcohol makes the product dry quicker, which is why it's in a lot of them. I'm allergic to it and it's amazing how much stuff it's in. I'm in Canada and can't tell you of any specific products that are for sure available in the US (other than online items.).

BUT I'd suggest looking for a natural food/product store in your area. Normally they carry a wide variety of products, including items for baby that do not contain alcohol as a drying agent, and have natural ingredients that tend to not aggravate sensitive skin and eczema. Even if they, for some reason, do not carry the products, the odds are they can point you to somewhere that does. Normally the staff can be quite helpful in pointing you towards products that will help your baby and his/her eczema as well.

    Good luck :)

  8. We have always used eucerin for my son's eczema.  It works great but I would say don't buy the calming cream eucerin.  I tried it on my son and he screamed like crazy for a long time and we couldn't wash it off.  I then decided to try it on my legs after shaving and I was in tears so it must have been pretty bad on all my son's eczema.  My son is now 3 and we use dove shampoo and dove body wash and it is so gentle on his skin.  With the eucerin try putting a bunch on after the bath when the skin is slightly damp - I have been told it works better.  And I was also told by the allergist to constantly reapply the lotion.

  9. the skin of a baby is so sensitive, it is not advisable to experiment on their skin. you may just make things worse. try to consult a skin care expert or a dermatologist. the main thing that you should do is to keep the baby's skin hydrated by giving and letting him drink a lot of water so that it will not become dry. try to avoid things that can irritate skin like dusts and rough and tight clothes as well as linens and rough fabrics. use only pure cotton fabrics. for more helpful tips in getting rid of eczema visit http://www.skinoriginal.com
