Alcohol with sleeping pills?

why can't you take sleeping pills with alcohol? caould you please list the effects and the cause of the effects. thanks!

  1. I will not answer this and no one else should either. I am sorry, but I fear when people come on here asking about why to things won't work especially drugs and such. I hope you are not attempting to harm yourself intentionally. Otherwise I see  no reason why you would come on here and ask such a silly question.


  2. sleeping pills like barbiturates and benzodiazepines depress breathing as does alcohol. When the two are combined, even in normal doses it can cause a fatal respiratory depression. OTC sleeping pills should be okay to mix though as they are usually some type of antihistamine.

  3. major head aches. ummm having problems sleeping..(you wont fall asleep..) having problems going to the bathroom...they are just a few
