Alcohol withdrawal? Is this possible

has anyone ever stopped drinking after drinking 1 to 3 drinks a day? Did you experience any symptoms of withdrawal? For me, things are louder for some reason, anyone else experience this?

  1. YES, among the first signs of withdrawal is a perceived increased sensory perception U need 2 STOP drinking altogether NOW or you'll regret it !


  2. Yes, you will experience physical symptoms when you stop drinking alcohol.  Try to get help if you can.

  6. Well my dad doesn't experience things being louder as far as I'm aware. But he gets cold and very irritated. He takes Diazepam (posh name for prescribed Valium). He starts more arguments when he's sober these days.

  7. Alchohol, on a daily basis..becomes an addiction. Alchohol, relaxes the central nervous system. So everything is kind of in a fog...like after ya get a buzz. That is why things are louder.

    Yes, withdrawels are possible, your body is used to having a drink everyday. When you dont, your body responds, by having withdrawels, like getting the shakes, or feeling nervous, vomiting, cold chills, all kinds of things.

  8. just stopped after 15 years drinking daily it sucks don't continue it gets worse seek AA meetings if you cant stop you would be surprised how supportive these total strangers can be!

  10. Yep, plenty of times.  After heavy periods of drinking, I remember that sounds seemed LOUDER which was quite annoying!  It'll go away soon.

  13. Yes, absolutely.  With me, I felt really naseous and everything tasted funny.  It took over a month for me to feel completely better.

  14. when I quit heavily drinking, yes, i felt a withdrawal. h**l if someone does something long enough, smoke, eat sweets all day(i just described me) then stop, ur body is learning to adjust to not having the daily routine. just take it one day at a time....good thing u minimized ya drinking...congrats
