  1. So you're an alcoholic ginger who wants a recipe for root beer eh?, yeah if I was a 'ranga I'd turn to drink too...

  2. Just check online recipes...

  3. For ginger beer, I use the zest and juice of 8 lemons, 5 oz of ginger (julienned), and 4 cups of table sugar. Pour 2 gallons of boiling water over all this. After 24 hours, rack the liquid to the secondary, leaving the solids behind. Add 1/2 tsp yeast nutrient, a packet of ale yeast, and let it sit, sealed, until the airlock stops bubbling completely. Prime with 0.6 cup sugar, 24 packets or tablets of aspartame (Nutrasweet), and 12 drops of yellow food coloring. This won't get up as high as you want (neither will your guests). You might try increasing the table sugar and switching to a champagne yeast.

If you try it, let me know what sort of yield you get.

  4. There's a wide variety of recipes you can access on DrinksMixer.com that would serve your purpose. Check out my sources for a list of top recipes with ginger beer (see source 1) and root beer (see source 2).

Good luck and have a great party!
