Alec Burks helps Utah Jazz to edge out Portland Trail Blazers 96-94-NBA Recap

Jazz relied upon their 2nd unit in this game as they were resting their starters for the postseason game. The reserves proved to be enough to accomplish the task.

10 boards, coming off the bench. He was excited especially after playing for 28 minutes and 4 seconds. He has averaged 6.8 minutes per game in this season.
"It was crazy," said Evans. "I always want to come out and play with energy. (People) say it's meaningless that it really didn't matter if we lost or won, but you still wanted to win the game, just for my sake and the team's sake."
Reserve Enes Kanter also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Josh Howard chipped in with 12 points.
Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin boasted about his 2nd unit.
"We coach to win. We didn't have the regular guys in there, but these guys understood we wanted to execute our stuff and continue to develop and grow as who we are -- not just some team that goes up and down the floor and takes
wild shots. For the most part, we stayed in our offense and executed."
Portland went home to spend the long summer with another last minute defeat. They had 5 players scoring in double figures.
J.J. Hickson tallied a game high 20 points and had 9 rebounds while Jonny Flynn recorded 18 points and 11 assists. Guard Nolan Smith came up with 16 and Wesley Matthews poured in 14 points. Kurt Thomas had 10 points and 6 rebounds.
