Former England Skipper, Alec Stewart believes the current Indian Head Coach, Duncan Fletcher, still remains the right man to lead the Men In Blue after a disappointing summer.
Fletcher replaced http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 after the South African departed from his post after leading the team to the coveted World Cup 2011 triumph in their back yard.
His tenure started with a mediocre but successful tour of the Caribbean, though he was soon brought back down to earth after the Indians' sluggish performance in England, where they lost the Test series 4-0 and are yet to register any win in the limited
overs International.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stewart-c91370 however, has backed the former Poms boss, claiming that he will soon deliver the goods for the Asian Power House.
Talking to the Times of India, he said, "Allow http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-c54739 to do what he did in England. Don't come in his way. Assist him, and you are bound to get a positive result. He has an eye for talent. Let Duncan see some of the domestic tournaments and I am sure it
won't be tough for him to spot the best possible talent for the vacant slots."
The former wicket-keeper also recalled the days when the player nurtured talents like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marcus-Trescothick-c1898, who went on to play under him and achieved great success with the national side, which included the 2005 emphatic Ashes triumph.
However, his reign’s as the coach of the Men In Blue has not been smooth, with many already criticizing his tactics of not being able to handle the dressing room.
Stewart has somewhat blamed the amount of Cricket played by the Indians as the main reason for their demise. Also injuries has ravaged their charge, which the player believes was bound to happen considering the no of matches they play, which includes the
Indian Premier League.
The Men In Blue will have a final chance to ensure that they don’t go empty handed when they lock horns with England in the final match of a long tour at Cardiff, tomorrow, September 16, 2011.
