http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aleem-Sarwar-Dar-c43094 advises PCB to grant central contracts to umpires – Cricket News Update
Aleem Dar, the former First-Class cricketer of Pakistan and incumbent Elite Panel umpire, has recommended http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) to grant central contracts to the umpires so that they work more diligently and honestly, revealing that all Test playing
nations of the world do so.
Dar voiced these views while talking to the local media at Mehran Arts Council, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792.
The three-time consecutive winner of International Cricket Council’s (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) ‘Umpire of the Year’ award, stated that the Pakistani cricket authorities should pay special attention on uplifting the umpiring system in the country as it is mandatory for the progress
of domestic cricket.
Dar stated, “Umpires also need central contracts. Almost all Test-playing countries offer central contracts to umpires and their fee structure is more impressive than what umpires get in Pakistan.”
The Umpire expressed happiness over the successful completion of the domestic T20 tournament, and urged the PCB to hold such type of events across the nation in a bid to send a message to the world that conditions in Pakistan are suitable for International
cricket.
“I am hopeful as conditions are improving for international cricket in Pakistan,” stated Dar.
On a question about his umpiring techniques and the cause of his constant success, he told, “I always go with a free mind, watch the ball closely and never take pressure from any team.”
Dar also suggested the PCB and conditionally retired former skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, to make rapprochement, opining that the latter should return to International cricket soon.
Remember, Afridi pulled out of all formats of International cricket a few months back, following his rift with the then coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193. However, he is now eager to resume his career in Team Pakistan.
In the end, Dar beseeched the cricketing celebrities to use their fame for collecting relief goods and funds for the flood victims of Pakistan, something he is working for himself.
The 43-year-old played 17 First-Class and 18 List A games during his domestic career. In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, he was the only umpire to have given all correct decisions.
