Aleem Dar honoured at Lord’s for his ODI feat - Cricket News Update
International Cricket Council (ICC) has honoured Pakistani Umpire, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aleem-Sarwar-Dar-c43094 for becoming only the seventh umpire to officiate in 150 One Day Internationals (ODI).
Dar, who is also an ICC Elite Panel umpire, achieved the feat after he officiated the first ODI between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and England at Lord’s.
The achievement was marked, when Elite Panel ICC referee, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javagal-Srinath-c66513 presented a memento to the Lahore based umpire in a post match ceremony on Friday at the home of cricket.

Dar was born in Jhang in 1968 and started-off as a bowling all-rounder, playing 17 First-Class matches in a career which spanned around a decade, before he finally decided to turn his attention towards umpiring.
He stood in his first One Day International (ODI) in 2000 and in 2002, he was appointed to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 panel of umpires.
The 44-year-old, with his reputation enhanced, was made part of the umpiring panel for the 2003 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 at Dhaka.
Winning plaudits for his sound judgment under pressure, Dar was finally promoted to the Elite Panel of ICC umpires in 2004, and proved himself to be one of the two best umpires in the world along with Australian http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Arnold-Taufel-c90354.
He is widely respected among his peers, players and the cricketing experts Dar has won the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Robert-Shepherd-c53188 Trophy by scooping up the ICC Umpire of the Year award for three years in a row.
He is also sixth in the list (74) of the all-time umpires who officiated in most number of Test matches behind http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daryl-John-Harper-c52530 (94), David Shepherd (92) and Darell Hair (78). Dar is also currently the only umpire who
has supervised two Cricket World Cup finals in 2007 and 2011.
