Aleem Dar not bothered about Shane Warne’s comments – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and England and expressed that he can also make mistakes just like any other human.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, the former Australian cricketer, who was commentating in the match, slammed the Pakistani umpire’s performance in the match on Twitter.
However, the media back home did come out in support of Dar, who is considered to be one of the best umpires in the history of the game, having won the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Umpire of the Year award consecutively in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Dar is thankful for the support he has received from his countrymen but urged the game’s governing body to ensure the use of Decision Review System (DRS) in every international match, which makes things easier for the on-field umpires.
“I want to thank the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 media for supporting me. I am a human and it is no big deal if I make mistakes. I am in favour of the DRS. It helps us (umpires) and builds confidence,” Dar expressed.
The 44-year-old umpire is not worried about the criticism from the former Aussie cricketer, who has been involved in off-field controversies throughout his career. Dar has been a member of the ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires for a number of years now and feels that he can still serve at the highest level of the sport in future.
While commenting about the upcoming limited-over series between Pakistan and India, Dar expressed that technology should be used in such a high-profile battle, in which the players as well as the officials would be under immense pressure.
“I am not bothered about Warne's tweet. I will keep on doing my job. Where I feel I am not fit for the job, I will call it a day,” he added. “India should set up DRS for the series against Pakistan. It helps to remove an added pressure from the umpires' shoulders.”
