Alejandro Falla beats Federico Del Bonis 6-1, 6-2
World number 123 Alejandro Falla  of Colombia crushed Argentinean Federico Del Bonis, ranked 195th in the world, in straight sets in the final qualifier of the Mutua Madrid Open at the La Caja Mágica in Madrid on Sunday.
The Colombian allowed his opponent to win just three games in the entire match, clinching the contest 6-1, 6-2 in just an hour and eight minutes.
Falla broke his opponent twice, dropping just a single game in the opening set to grab it 6-1. The 27-year-old hit a single ace and 71 percent of the first serves in the opening set, winning 65 percent of the points on them. On
the other hand, Bonis fired 75 percent of the first serves and converted 58 percent of them into points. Falla claimed two of the three break points he received in the first set.
After winning the opening set easily, Falla kept the pressure on his opponent and broke him in the third and seventh game of the second set to seal it 6-2. The Colombian kept his first serve percentage at 67 percent and grabbed
75 percent of the points on his first serve in the second set.
Falla will face Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in the first round of the main draw.
Adrian Mannarino ousts Daniel Munoz-De La Nava 6-2, 7-6(5)
French Adrian Mannarino, ranked 59th in the world, moved to the main draw as he defeated world number 157 Daniel Munoz-De La Nava of Spain in straight sets 6-2, 7-6(5) in the final qualifying match.
Mannarino thrashed Munoz-De La Nava in the first set as he lost just two games, clinching the set 6-2. The French fired a couple of aces and 46 percent of the first serves in the opening set. The left-handed captured 75 percent
of the first service points in the opening set. Mannarino utilized both break point chances he received in the first set.
In the second set, both players broke each other once in the first twelve games, levelling the score at 6-6 to force a tie-break. Mannarino claimed a single mini-break in the tie-break to grab it 7-5. The French delivered a couple
of aces and committed the same number of double faults in the second set. The 22-year-old hit 72 percent of the first serves, converting 71 percent of them into points. Mannarino converted one of the four break points and failed to save the only one he faced
in the second set.
The French is drawn to play Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina in the opening match of the main round.
