Bubnov has urged http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 to take responsibility for Lokomotiv's recent failures and help his side to end their Russian Premier League season on a high
Former Dynamo Moscow defender, Aleksandr Bubnov, has backed Lokomotiv Moscow striker, Roman Pavlyuchenko, to rediscover his old form after returning to Russia from Tottenham Hotspur during the winter transfer window.
Reports in Russia suggest that the striker is finding life difficult at the Moscow-based club, and will probably leave the Russian outfit in the summer.
Pavlyuchenko is likely to join Zenit St. Petersburg or CSKA Moscow during the upcoming summer transfer window despite giving an indication to extend his stay at Loko, earlier this month.
“It is hard for me to judge why we are playing so badly after an effective second league round. I need to get more games as I have not been playing regularly in England. I can say that we have a young team and we need more time
But I am happy with everything here and do not want to leave." The former Rotor Volgograd player had said.
There is little arguing that Pavlyuchenko has failed to rediscover his old form, that has made him a cult hero at Spartak Moscow since joining the club in January.
The Russian Cup winner has failed to meet his expectations ever since his return to Moscow, socring just two goals in nine outings.
However, Bubnov is adamant that Pavlyuchenko is amongst the top strikers in Russia, and he can turn the tables with some electrifying performances next season.
Lokomotiv will play the last game of the season against Spartak Moscow on the back of a 2-2 draw against Dynamo Moscow on Sunday.
Pavlyuchenko, who got himself injured while playing against Anzhi Makhachkala at Makhachkala stadium, missed the match against the Dinamiki. However, he is in contention to play the upcoming crunch league tie.
“Pavlyuchenko has not played regularly in England but he needs to understand that the team has a lot of expectation with him. I think all the entire team needs to gear up.” Bubnov said.
The fact that the Parovozy have failed to record a win from their last seven league matches displeases Bubnov, who has urged Lokomotiv to win the against their arch rivals, Spartak Moscow.
