Aleksandr Bubnov has expressed his dissatisfaction over Zenit St. Petersburg’s current Russian Premier League campaign, saying that Luciano Spalletti needs to sell controversial players in the upcoming summer
transfer window.
The 57-year-old is of the view that Spalletti needs to clear the dead wood at Petrovsky stadium this summer if he wants to alter the situation following a below par domestic campaign this season.

“Spalletti is slowly beginning to deal with controversies but he will find it difficult to handle these things next season. He needs to get rid of certain players or he should motivate them after creating competition
in the team for places. The likes of Shirokov, Kerzhakov, and Danny are not helping the team. Their controversial behaviour has already cost them the championship.
“There are players in the squad with age factor who are not performing. If Petrograders want to move on, the team needed to purge and get rid of those players that create conflicts and factions within the group,”

The defending league champions are on the brink of losing the race to win Silverware this season, having failed to close down the gap from CSKA Moscow at the top after dropping too many points recently. The Meshki
