Aleksandr Bukharov insists that Zenit St. Petersburg gave it all against Lokomotiv Moscow
Zenit St. Petersburg lost 4-2 against Lokomotiv Moscow in their latest Russian Premier League encounter. In a tie that Zenit were leading initially, the opponents came from behind to claim three points at Lokomotiv stadium.
The Bomzhi striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Bukharov-c4555, who scored the second goal of the match, has expressed his frustration over Zenit’s sloppy performance in the second half of the game, where they conceded four goals.
Zenit were enjoying a handsome league run having defeated big spenders Anzhi Makhachkala, for the first time at their home stadium, and arch rivals CSKA Moscow by two goals. But they were second best against the Red Greens.
Bukharov highlighted that the Meshki gave away possession far too easily in the second period and admitted that the Parovozy had enough luck to score goals in quick succession. The promising striker rued missed chances during the game and insisted that he
missed a golden chance to cement his team’s position.
“When the score was 2-0, I could not imagine that our opponents had a chance to even equalize. But things turned out quite differently and my goal did not bring any points to the team.”
“Lokomotiv scored goals in the second half, because they have a wee bit of luck. I had another scoring chance in the game but their goalkeeper acted well. If I would have scored another goal than the Loko would have had no chances for any come back. We need
to focus on our defence while displaying attacking and entertaining football.” The former Rubin Kazan player was quoted as saying.
Bukharov heaped praise on the Moscow-based club’s head coach, Jose Couceiro, and reiterated that the Portuguese national is going to bring success to the club. Lokomotiv are yet to lose a match under the guidance of Couceiro and they have managed to concede
just two goals in their last six games.
The former FC Krasnodar striker revealed that the team is not happy at the moment and they are preparing hard for their upcoming match against Rubin Kazan.
