Former CSKA Moscow manager, Aleksandr Tarkhanov, has urged his former side to back their under-fire manager, Leonid Slutsky despite a series of disappointing Russian Premier League results.
There’s little arguing that CSKA had a poor start the third league round, having claimed just 5 points in 5 league outings. The Armeytsy have won just 5 league games out of their last 20 meetings.
Consequently, the future of the former Dinamo Minsk player is under fresh scrutiny following CSKA’s slump in form. Reports in Russia had suggested that Yevgeni Giner, the Koni president, is lining up former Zenit St. Petersburg
manager, d**k Advocaat, to replace Slutsky.
CSKA’s poor league form has angered a number of players at Luzhniki stadium and some of their star players are rumoured to be on their way out of Moscow.
However, Tarkhanov believes that Slutsky deserves a chance to prove his tactics and urged his side to support their manager, who helped the Russian outfit reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Tarkhanov went on to admit that CSKA depended heavily upon the partnership of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vagner-c35793 Love. The Armeytsy have struggled to claim results ever since the Brazilian's return to his home country.
"The team has problems in attack. They were depended upon the striking partnership of their forwards, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wagner-c36524 Love and Doumbia. The shocking departure of Brazilian has affected their attack. Though Doumbia is still scoring, but
he needs a partner in attack.
“I believe that the coach is responsible for the results. However, it’s too early to draw conclusions about Slutsky’s future. I think they should give him a chance.” Tarkhanov was quoted as saying.
The former Terek Grozny manager went on to highlight the injured players in the treatment rooms. Their prolific attacking midfielders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Dzagoev-c4249, are out with knee injuries while their first choice goalkeeper,
