Aleksandra Krunic outshines wild card entrant Kamilla Farhad in 1st Round – Tashkent Open 2011
Qualifier Aleksandra Krunic outshone wild card entrant Kamilla Farhad during the opening round of the Tashkent Open 2011. The two players were meeting for the first time on indoor hard courts of the Olympic School Tennis Courts, Tashkent. Serbian Krunic
won in straight sets with a bagel and a bread stick (6-0, 6-1) in under an hour.
After winning the toss, the first to open was Farhad but she was broken in the first game. In the second game Krunic smashed two aces at 30-love and bagged an easy game, without much opposition. In the third game she again broke the wild card entrant and
took a lead of 3-0. Krunic went on to hold her serve in fourth game and then went on to breaking her opponent for the third and last time in the fifth game. As Krunic brought out a big serve she smashed two successive aces to bag the opening set.
After 20 minutes of play, Krunic nailed the first set. The wild card entrant lost her serve early and was unable to pick up. Krunic quickly shifted gears and won six games in a row to win the first set on a comprehensive note. The qualifier earned 92% points
in her total service points, hammered four winners and converted 3 out of 3 break points.
Opening the second set of the match was Farhad and the two kept winning on alternate serves for the first two games. In the third game, first to break was Krunic and as she held her serve in the fourth game she took a lead of 3-1. From there onwards Krunic
shifted to top gear and broke Farhad for the second time. During the sixth game Krunic smashed an ace and held her serve at which point the score was 5-1. As Farhad served to remain in the game her backhand found the net in the middle and Krunic got a chance
for a double break.  Krunic then stroked a stunning crosscourt forehand and got the break. The Serbian won the second set and the match with a 6-0, 6-1 score.
The Serbian powered through both the sets and reeled off five games in a row in the second set and straight six games in the first. She forced some errors off Farhad's racquet to serve for the set to finish it 6-1. Krunic hit five aces and had a perfect
geometric precision that did not commit a single break point. In addition, she did not setup a single break point opportunity for her adversary in the entire match and instead capitalized on six break points during the match.
