  1. lol u have a dell computer right! There is nothing you can do about this, even  if u install xp. But there is an option in the startup options that can be used to deactivate this thing.

  2. Old Dells and Compaqs had this message, if you open the case you will see a small push switch that is closed when the case is screwed on.

You need to go into the BIOS setting (Esc or Del on the old machines usually) and you'll see a setting to reset this, another to clear it or turn it off completely, this will sort it out for you.

If you can't get into the BIOS then take out the CMOS battery (usually a 2032 coin cell battery) and flatten the bios (either using the CMOS clear setting or just short out the BIOS battery pins, WITH THE BATTERY OUT AND THE POWER OFF) then when you reboot the machine it will tell you that the date is wrong and will let you log into settings to change it.  Oh yes, this will clear the lid open error at the same time.

  3. It means the cover of your PC has at some stage been removed. Generally to upgrade RAM or replace HDD.

Its jsut an old security warning.

Reboot the pc and press F8 to enter set up.

There will be a setting in the bias to reset the message.
