Alesana Tuilagi reaches 100 match landmark for Leicester Tigers
The legendary Alesana Tuilagi, the Leicester Tigers’ wing has completed a landmark in his club, while playing on Saturday for Tigers and made it a victory by winning at after a long time, which is since 2006.
Tuilagi made his hundredth appearance as a starting player for Tigers and played the complete match and maintained a record victory at The Rec. He was pretty content and satisfied with his current standing as a player. He said, “I've been counting down to
it for a little while. But I am very proud to reach 100. It is hard to get to that mark when you think of all the good players who have been in the squad in my time here. It is a very special thing for me.”
Alesana ‘Alex’ Tuilagi is a Samoan rugby union player. He mostly plays as a wing and is from a family full of rugby players. All is brothers are either a part of major league or the national team and the most famous of them is Manu Tuilagi. Other brothers
are Freddie Tuilagi, Sanele Vavae Tuilagi,  Anitelia Tuilagi and Henry Tuilagi. Freddie and Anitelia are former players though.
His professional career started from Rugby Parma in 2002 and then he went on to Leicester Tigers in 2004 and is playing to date. He has scored 160 points for the club so far. He has earned 221 caps for his national side, Samoa and scored 45 points so far.
Tuilagi has been a helping hand in every side he showed up for. He is considered to be a potential wing and a world class rugby hero, just like his brothers.
He said, “I made my first start against Leeds in 2004 and lots of things have changed since then. I tried to learn from the older players when I arrived as a 'little boy' and now I am one of the senior players and feel I have more responsibility to the team.”
Mentioning his little brother, he said that he feels he is playing more responsibly in his presence and has a feeling of a mature member of Tigers in the squad. He is only 3 tries short of fifty tries for his club and thinks that he is having a really good
format the moment. He scored 10 tries this year in 22 appearances so far.
He added, “The team is playing well, the coaches are very good at talking to you and keeping you involved in training, and the trainers are excellent too in working with you between games so you can give more in the match.”
He admitted that he is doing a lot of hard work on polishing hi skills and giving his best in training camps and on the field, when it comes to real battle.
The very same day when Tuilagi touched his 100 landmark, captain Craig Newby reached the 50 try mark and Marcos Ayerza, the prop, made his 100th appearance as a starting player for the club.
