The Italian urged his teammates to use the recent triumph as a stepping-stone as they look to secure a Champions League spot in the on-going 2010-11 season.
Juventus are currently in sixth place, despite a strong start to the current campaign. A string of poor results in recent weeks caused them to lose their grip on the coveted Champions League spot- a position they are hoping to regain
soon.
Sunday’s victory over reigning Italian champions Inter Milan was a scrappy affair and many believe that Juve were lucky to walk away from Turin with all three points. But regardless of the circumstances, Juventus earned the vital points
in their quest for a top four finish. The victory will undoubtedly give the entire squad a huge confidence boost, something that captain Del Piero is quick to acknowledge.
Speaking on the victory against Inter Milan, the Juventus captain said, “I am very happy for the victory on Sunday night. The win will be used as a moment of growth because it continued our good form from the match against Cagliari.”
He added, “I think the team clicked after our match against Palermo, after the loss we did not deserve. It helped to kickstart the side, and helped us reach the result against the Nerazzurri.”
However, the veteran forward warned his teammates not to rest on their laurels, reminding them that the season was far from over. He said that they should not become content just by beating http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. He stressed that they need to continue playing in the
same manner in order to move up in the standings.
The win means that Juventus move up into sixth place in the standings, three points short of fourth placed Inter Milan. With a total of eight teams battling it out for a place in the Champions League, the stage is set for an exhilarating finish to the Serie
A season.
