Alessandro Del Piero has offered to sign a blank contract for his side, Juventus. He has also rejected claims by new outlets that he was looking for more money in a new deal.
"I've signed my first blank contract with Juventus," said the 36-year-old Juve captain, out of contract in June, said in a video on his official website. "I'll sign my last one to wear this jersey blank too," he added after admitting to having been stung
by rumours he was holding the club ransom.
Alessandro Del Piero is an Italian striker who has been playing with Juventus since his transfer in 1993 from Serie B side Padova. Del Piero is well known for his finishing and dribbling qualities. He is also a dead ball specialist and has scored some wonderful
goals from dead ball situations over the years.
Versatility is one of Del Piero’s main strengths which allow him to play in an array of attacking positions. He started his club career playing as a deep-lying striker but quickly developed into a more influential role, occupying the critical playmaker’s
position just behind the strikers. His inspired abilities were best utilized when Marcello Lippi took over as Juventus coach in 1994. Lippi gave Del Piero increased opportunities to play in a free role just behind the striker.
Del Piero became the all time leading goal scorer for Juventus when he scored a hat-trick in a cup match against Fiorentina in 2006 and took his goals tally for the club to 185. He surpassed Giampiero Boniperti, who scored 182 goals for the club.
Del Piero has won the Serie A six times, the Champions league and the Intercontinental cup during his time at Juventus. 1997/98 was his best season for the club, when he scored 21 goals in Serie A and ended top scorer in the UEFA Champions League with 10
goals. He scored a magnificent free kick against AS Monaco in the semi final of the Champion’s League.

Del Piero has scored 280 goals in 666 matches till date for Juventus and plays on a one year rolling contract for the club.
His loyalty and love for the club cannot be denied even though he has faced many difficulties throughout his playing career at the club. However, he has remained faithful even when everybody else left the club. It seems he will be here again in the upcoming
season as well.
