The former Cagliari chief insists that the club should not forget the positive things done in the past; maintains the striker is important element of Juventus.
Discharged Bologna boss, Pierpaolo Bisoli, has come to the defence of under fire striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Matri-c4733, who is facing the critics’ frenzy due to lack of form in-front of the goal.
The Juventus aggressor is the top-scorer for his club this season with 10 goals in the 25 league appearances for the team, but he has failed to add to the scores since the 1-1 stalemate against AC Milan back in February.
The former Cagliari manager insists that the scoring-break is due to the usual dip in form of the player, and the goal-scorer will soon recover from the shock. The tactician told that a lot is asked from a new signing when he joins
the team, but insisted that the player’s past heroics should not be forgotten.
While talking to the press, the 45-year-old said:
“He’ll soon return to scoring ways. When a player joins a big club then they ask a lot from you, they quickly forget the positive things done in the past. Matri is having an excellent campaign.”
The manager, who has bossed the player at Cagliari insisted that the player has always given his best in the game, and mental burn out could be the cause behind the diminishing form. The veteran maintained that the Bianconeri centre-forward
is an exceptional talent despite the recent lack of scoring, and remains a key asset for the Old Lady as well as the Azzurri.
“He works hard for the team and that may be affecting his composure in front of goal. As a result there could be dips in his form, but you can’t doubt the quality of the player. These things happen and Matri remains an important
guy for the national team too.”
Reports in the Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Matri, who was fielded in the recent match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003.
Juventus manager, Antonio Conte, is thinking of going for the 3-5-2 system in the Partenopei clash, which could see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Borriello-c23672 occupy the attacking role for the team.
