There has been mounting pressure by fans on the AC Milan board for selling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903; but Nesta feels the fans should not be hard on them.
Italian clubs have been blamed for becoming feeder clubs for the much richer leagues, with the top Serie A performers opting to ply their trade in Leagues asides from the Serie A. Many have stated that this is a reason for the reduced charm and viewership
of the Serie A.
Amidst the financial crunch that Europe finds itself in, many clubs have been hit hard by the lack of cash flow in the League. The television rights are not that lucrative anymore, the stadiums are being filled under the full capacity and most of the clubs
cannot afford to match the wages provided by clubs from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. A recent addition to that has been the French outfit, Paris Saint-Germain, which has been highly active in acquiring the best talent from around the world.
They have been particularly keen on getting players from the Serie A, due to their manager, Carlo Ancelotti, who has spent majority of his playing and managing career in the Italian Lega.
Ancelotti’s most recent purchase has seen him pocket the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, while parting away with 60 million Euros for their services. This has caused a commotion in the Rossoneri faithful, who feel that their side would be unable
to compete for the Scudetto or the Champions League in the upcoming season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Nesta-c4735, former AC Milan defender, has jumped to the defence of his former boss and stated that Berlusconi has been extremely faithful to the club, and has always put the club first. He went on to state:
"For 26 years Berlusconi's money has been on the line. If he had not spent so much, then maybe the club would not have not done so well.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 defender feels that the club fans should be grateful that Berlusconi has served the club to the best of his abilities, and has made the club into a bigger entity through his 26 years at the club. He went on to state:
"The fans owe it to him. In fact, they should thank him. For a quarter of a century he has made them happy."
Berlusconi was on record to state that the club would be saving 150 million Euros in the coming two seasons due to this sale.
