The Italian defender is expecting to face the Russian national team at the European competition and has expressed his desire to leave Zenit St. Petersburg this summer
Zenit St. Petersburg defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Rosina-c4741, has wished luck to the Russian national team at Euro 2012, conceding that d**k Advocaat’s men deserve to reach the semi-finals of the European tournament.
However the 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who was not included in the 23-man final roaster ahead of the continental tournament by Cesare Prandelli, wants Russia to face Italy in the semi-finals despite the progression of these
two teams from the group stages is still uncertain.
Though, Russia atop the Group A, they need to claim at least one more point in the upcoming last group stage match against Greece on Saturday in order to confirm their place in the round of eight.
Italy, on the other side, are at the 3rd spot in Group C. However, the Blues still have a chance to progress to the later stages only if they win against Republic of Ireland on Monday and Spain defeat Croatian in the
last group stage match on same day.
“Though I support Italy, I have a lot of good friends at Russia. It would be nice to see the semi-finals Russia - Italy. I think it's quite possible.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Rosina has conceded that he was amused to see the opening match of the tournament between Italy and Spain. He has praised his national side, insisting that the Blues showed nerves of steel against La Roja.
Commenting on his compatriot, Domenico Criscito, Rosina has backed the former Genoa player who has been accused of a match fixing scandal.
“He's high-quality player and a great help to the team. Of course, it is not easy, but I hope he finds the strength to come back again to show how good he is. I wrote him that everything will turn out well for him.” Rosina said.
The former Parma midfielder went on to reveal that he is unhappy at Petrovsky stadium and wants to leave the St. Petersburg club this summer.
