Alex Ariza criticises Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum over Floyd Mayweather – Boxing news
Alex Ariza, who is the conditioning trainer of eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation World Welterweight Champion (Super Champion) Manny Pacquiao, has criticised Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, and Top Rank for not letting
the fight against Floyd Mayweather happen.
Ariza insisted Arum has some sort of a personal grudge with Mayweather Jr., who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, and that is why he is interfering because he does not want Mayweather to get
the payday of his life.
Ariza told Fighthype.com, “Arum hates Floyd Mayweather, can't stand him, doesn't want to see him make a dollar, can't stand Golden Boy, doesn't want to do business with them, but instead of doing what's best for the sport, what's best or the fans, and what's
best for the fighters because they'll get the payday of a lifetime, no, it's all about him. “I don't like him, so f**k him!”
Ariza stated Mayweather Jr. is right if he wants to fight Pacquiao because he will get the biggest pay day of his career thus far but on the same note he stressed it is Arum who is destroying things.
Ariza added, “I'm thoroughly convinced and believe that Floyd really does want to have this fight. I think he really wants to have this fight. As far as he knows, he's right. He's right. Bob is the one interfering and f**king s**t up.”
Mayweather and Pacquiao are the biggest draws in boxing and a clash between these two pound-for-pound kings is one of the most eagerly awaited but unfortunately, both fighters have always had disputes on different things.
However, now the undefeated American legend, Mayweather, who is a winner of all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has finally shown interest in taking on Pacquiao.
He wants a fight on May 5, 2011 and this time the ball lies in Pacquiao’s court so let’s see if Pacquiao forces Arum to set up a dream-fight.
