Alex Ariza reckons Manny Pacquiao can beat Juan Manuel Marquez within six rounds – Boxing news
Alex Ariza, who is the conditioning coach of the eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao, has said his fighter will end the fight against Juan Manuel Marquez earlier
than anyone can imagine.
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, will meet the Mexican Dinamita Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ariza believes Pacquiao will win the mega showdown by the way of knockout.
Ariza claimed Pacquiao has become a pretty mature fighter now and his speed and power will be too much for Marquez this time.
“It will be earlier than you would think,” said Ariza after supervising Pacquiao’s morning ritual. “He is more complete now. He has much more speed, power and explosiveness.”
This is the third time Pacquiao and Marquez will be facing each other. Their first meeting came at the same MGM Arena back in 2004 and it ended in a controversial draw. The second time both warriors took on each other was in 2008 and this time it was Pacquiao
who won the bout via split decision, yet another controversial ending.
Therefore, Ariza admitted Marquez will also be fully prepared this time but on the same note, he insisted his fighter will once again win the fight.
“Marquez may be a bit smarter and more cautious now. But at the end of the day that will not win you the fight,” he said.
Meanwhile the 38-year-old Marquez, who has won 53 of his 59 professional fights (1 Draw), with 39 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, thanked Pacquiao and his camp for giving him another chance to prove himself.
“I want to thank Manny Pacquiao and his team for giving me this opportunity,” said Marquez who has been dreaming about the November 12 showdown for the past three years.
The Pacquiao-Marquez November 12 bout is expected to be the biggest fight of the year as it will determine who the real champion is.
