Alex Ariza reckons Manny Pacquiao will go for a knockout against Juan Manuel Marquez – Boxing news
Alex Ariza, who is the trainer of the eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao, believes his fighter is going to go for a knockout win in the very first round against
Juan Manuel Marquez.
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, and the Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, will lock horns for their much-anticipated trilogy bout on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and Ariza believes Pacquiao will not allow Marquez to
do the distance.
Ariza stated Pacquiao has brought him to the United States five weeks prior to the bout because he is taking it personally. He said he knows Pacquiao for the last four years and as far as his opinion is concerned, he thinks Pacquiao will go straight for
a knockout.
Ariza told Fighthype.com, “I for sure know this is a personal thing for Manny and his approach to training is in that way, so he’s going out to make a statement.”
“I’d be surprised if Manny didn’t try to knock him out in the first round. It’s just my opinion, but I’ve seen Manny for four years now, you know, with different sparring partners and how his approach to things is. I just know how Manny is. If he wants to
take you out, he’s gonna take you out. I think Manny is going to go in there and try to knock him out right away,” Ariza added.
Pacquiao, who has won 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world whereas Marquez lies on the fifth spot.
However, since Marquez also has desperately waited three years to avenge his defeat, it is hard to predict a winner. Therefore, let’s see if Pacquiao can once again beat Marquez in the ring.
