Alex Barrow is fine, confirms Somerset’s director of cricket Brian Rose – Cricket News Update

Barrow, the 20-year-old right-handed batsman, fielding as a substitute for Craig Meschede, collided with the advertising board while attempting to intercept a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stewart-c91370 Walters’ boundary through the leg-side.
The youngster smashed his head into an advertising board and was briefly knocked unconscious. After several minutes of on-the-field treatment, Barrow was taken off to the pavilion on a stretcher and subsequently to the hospital, where scans confirmed that it was just a concussion and nothing serious.
“He had concussion, but, thankfully, all the other tests on arms, legs and spine did not show up anything and he will be fine,”  Brain Rose told the reporters on Monday.
“He will probably have a headache for a few days, but that’s what you have to expect if you go around head-buthttp://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472ing advertising boards! I can’t ever remember ever doing that as a player,” he added further.
Asked about Craig Meschede’s injury, for whom Barrow was substituting, Rose said that it was a damaged tendon.
“Craig has damaged a tendon on the end of a finger and may have to rest it for a while. It was just a typical day in our season – two in hospital.”

Boucher was rushed to the hospital where he underwent an emergency surgery on his injured eye, and was later sent back home for further treatment and rehabilitation. Good news for Boucher’s fans is that the severity of injury is not as worse as anticipated initially.
After a couple of surgeries, the doctors have confirmed that the important parts of the retina of Boucher’s injured eye were intact, and the medics are cautiously optimistic that the former Proteas gloveman will have "reasonable recovery" of the vision in his left eye.
