the 30th of October 2011.
Although it took Alex a minute effort to clog the opening set, he eventually managed to do so by clinching the tiebreaker. Even though he had only targeted 54 percent of his first serves, he managed to achieve a walloping 89 percent
of his first serve points won.
Moreover, he had a strong defence which assisted him in attaining a 64 percent of his second return points won. Alex had a laser precision and had committed zero double faults. In addition, he managed to save two out of the three

his adversary by benefitting from a breakpoint and with a hold of serve. However, Alex was not going to let his adversary capitalize on the lead and quickly broke back immediately in the next game and with a hold of serve finished the deficit at 4-4 by the
end of the eighth game.

and clinched the tiebreaker at 7-3 and was now one up in the match.
Amidst the second set, Alex reeled off three continuous games to take a lead of 3-0 on the scoreboard. In subsequent four games, the players then held their respective serves but Alex was still leading the score board at 4-2. In
the last two games, the Briton held his serve and then benefitted from a break to seal his victory of the set and the match.
Next up for Alex in the final qualifying round of the event is wildcard entrant Jamere Jenkins, who is also his countryman.
