Alex Chamberlain called up for international duty
The most sought after youngster this January transfer window was Southampton’s, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Stuart Pearce proved it, as he handed the 17 year old his first ever call up for international duty.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749’s Under-21s are due to face Italy in an international friendly in Empoli next week and Chamberlain has been included in the 23-player list for the match.
A total of three new faces have been given their maiden call ups with Alex Chamberlain joined by Jay http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigues-c31508 of Burnley and Joe Barnett of Middlesbrough.
Jack Wilshire has not been included in the list.
Not taking part for the seniors will be http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and returns to duty for the Under-21s.

Sturridge’s Chelsea teammate, Josh McEachran, has missed out on the call up after being given his maiden call up against Germany in November.
Along with Wilshire, who will be on duty for seniors, Pearce will be without the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903.
"We're missing a number of players through injury, but it will give me a chance to look at a few new players. I also saw Southampton play Manchester United in The FA Cup on Saturday and Alex Chamberlain is showing a lot of promise so we thought we'd bring
him into the squad too", said Pearce ahead of the game.
The game next week is in preparation of the summer’s Under-21s championships in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 with further friendlies also to be played before the grand summer gala.
Pearce went on to say "We're now looking ahead to the tournament in Denmark and this game, and the ones coming up in March, will give players the chance to try and cement their place in the final 23 for the summer”.
Pearce is blessed with some very interesting and upcoming talent in his ranks and will be looking to feed the senior side by nurturing the youngsters at his disposal. Although, Chamberlain is not guaranteed to start for the juniors, he is likely to get a
run in at some point in the game coming on as a substitute.
England’s attack will be led by Nathan Delfounseo and Daniel Sturride while Rodriguez of Burnley is expected to be on the bench.
