Alex Davis was captivated with his fighters’ victories – UFC news
Alex Davis was the man of the night on January 14, 2012. The veteran was head over heels with his fighters – Edson Barboza, Thiago Tavares and Rousimar Palhares – when they emerged victorious at the UFC 142.
His delight was uncontrollable especially when his boys grabbed the Fight Night bonus of the event.
Expressing his joy, the veteran stated, “As I manage these guys, get them fights and help them forward their careers, when I do manage to get a kid to where everyone dreams about getting to – due to his hard work and determination – into glory, his name
in the headlines, his face on the sites and in the news, I realize that we have overcome a whole scope of problems to get here. But we are also now confronted with a whole new set of problems and challenges.”
He further said that for others it is just the way to success but for him it is all the hard work finally earning gold and that is a happy moment of his life.
He further asserted that even though the boys have done well there’s still a lot more to go through, since his clients still have long careers ahead of them for which they need to work even harder.
Barboza, one of his boys, was the luckiest guy of the event. He acquired two honours along with $130,000 of prize money. According to Davis, it was Barboza’s firm foundation that has driven him to this level. However, he warned his fighter to be careful
since the upcoming years are difficult to manage.
UFC President Dana White had similar remarks for the 23 year who has the potential of winning a title shot against Jon Jones right after winning the UFC light heavyweight title.
According to White, there are a lot of sudden changes coming towards him that can either make him better or make him lose him control. He further added that when guys get to this point he feels concerned for them since most of the time they lose the track
and are led astray. Finally, he asserted that the fighter needs to keep a balance in his life and walk on the same path he is walking right now to be successful.
