Alex Ferguson believes Manchester City can finally rival Manchester United
Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson has gone on to admit that Manchester City, the team’s arch-rivals, can finally go ahead and compete with the Red Devils on all fronts.
The manager has gone on to state that the team can now actually contend for the Premier League title and might even do the unthinkable in the Champions League, should they get their head to it.
Following a change in ownership, City have seen Sheikh Mansour take over the finances at the club and he has been rather generous in doing so. At the same time, City went on to end their thirty year trophy drought, as they secured the FA Cup this past season,
while finishing in a spot, that guarantees automatic Champions League qualification.

Ferguson, when talking about his local rivals, is quoted to have said: "There was a period not so long ago when City were actually in the second division and they were never a thorn in our flesh"
"Whereas every year in the past we’ve had to contend with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
"But winning a trophy does you a power of good. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that. It takes the pressure off the manager and gives confidence to the players.
"We’ve experienced it ourselves over the years and we expect City to be challengers next season.”
The fact that Ferguson has come forth and made these comments, it just goes to show how brilliant City have become, in recent years. City and United have one of the worst rivalries in the history of football, with both teams looking to go at each other,
every chance they get.
Nonetheless, City have almost always remained in the shadows of United. The Red Devils, have quite simply been a force to be reckoned with, until now. With City now boasting some of the best players in the business and with the club finally having the winning
mentality which is needed to go ahead and win it all, it seems that there might be a shift in the tides.
Last season, City went on to finish at a highly impressive third spot and should they better that this season, then perhaps the number one spot, is exactly where they will end up.
It is now a wait to see how the coming season plays out for the blue side of Manchester.
