Zoran Tosic has admitted that he still talks to Manchester United’s boss on the phone to give his opinion on some of the talented Russian players in the Russian Premier League
CSKA Moscow left winger, Zoran Tosic, has admitted that Manchester United head coach, Alex Ferguson, often calls him to inquire about the best players in the Russian Premier League.
Tosic, who tasted English Premier League football after being spotted by Ferguson back in 2009, revealed that he still talks to the Scottish manager over the phone line to discuss different Russian players.
“I still have a very good relationship with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson and we sometimes talk on the phone. I'm always glad to hear from him. He is a great professional and a person. He usually calls to ask about Russian players.” The Serbian
Cup winner was quoted as saying.
If speculations are to be believed, Ferguson is interested in signing CSKA attacking midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 a tough competition for starting line-up.
The Japanese footballer, who completed a move to the Manchester-based club from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, is out injured after sustaining a hamstring injury back in October.
Unlike http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 FC, Ferguson has not signed much Russian players in the past since replacing Ron Atkinson at the helm. Andrei Kanchelskis remains the only Russian player who played for the Red Devils to date after
leaving Shakhtar Donetsk back in 1991.
And there is little arguing to the statement that Tosic is the only player in the Russian championship at the moment who has played for the Manchester-based club in the past.
The 25-year-old completed a move to Old Trafford for an undisclosed fee from Partizan in January 2009. However, he did not wait for his first chance too long as he appeared on the team-sheet in the league cup semi-final against
Derby County at home.
The Serbian winger made his debut in the FA Cup fourth round match against Tottenham Hotspur on January 24, three days later after making a second-half substitute appearance in the league tie against West Bromwich Albion.
