Alex Ferguson preparing Chilean raid in the summers
Manchester United’s manager, Alex Ferguson, is currently preparing a mega summer bid for the Chilean duo of, Alexis Sanchez and Mauricio Isla. Both the players are currently employed by Italian side Udinese and would be reluctant to part with their prized
assets. This is exactly why Ferguson is offering to include some current United players as part of the transfer deal.
It is no secret that Ferguson has been an admirer of Sanchez, ever since the young mercurial winger, went on to out shine countless other players during the course of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The player has also been an instant fan favorite at Italy, ever
since he joined Udinese. However the players team mate for both club and country, Mauricio Isla has also become a target for the Red Devils, who want to bring both the players to Old Trafford as early as next year.
Isla is one of the best utility players in the world, he can play in both the midfield and in defense. He can also play in almost any position in these two areas on the pitch, which makes him worth a whole lot more than most people would initially assume.
Ferguson also strongly believes that bringing both the players to England, would make it easier for them to adapt to the life in the country and they would be bringing with them, some extra chemistry that they have developed amongst each other over the years.
Udinese are also currently in a position of great discomfort in the Italian Serie A. The club is currently at the bottom of the Serie A table and are bound to face financial problems in the near future, this is why United are willing to offer the exact same
price that the club has quoted for the players and in turn this agreement has made the deal all the more easier to complete.
The dynamic duo, first made their mark on the international stage, with their breath taking performances in the Under 20 World Cup, which took place in 2007. The players performances were so crucial, that it took a struggling Chile side, who were bound to
not win anything, to going on to secure the third spot in the competition.
Considering how Udinese are currently facing a major financial blow, the team might be willing to sell the two players for as little as sixteen to eighteen million pounds. The price is bound to vary in the near future, but by not too much most probably.
Both the players are currently playing the dumb card on the deal, however once it starts to materialize both of them are bound to be eager to get a move to the most successful team in the Premier League’s history.
United could make do with a winger like Sanchez, who has the skills, the technique and the crossing ability to become the best at what he does in the world. On the other hand a utility player like Isla could also prove to be highly beneficial to the side,
in fact the young Chilean international could prove to be the player that Owen Hargreaves was supposed to be at the club, but couldn’t due to his injuries.
