Alex Ferguson turns head towards Alexandre Pato
Over the last couple of days, Manchester United have been forced to endure a soap opera at the hands of the teams star striker, Wayne Rooney. The player went from stating that he did not see his future at the club, due to the fact that the team lacked ambition, to finally signing an extension to his contract with the team, which would see him be a United player for another five years.
However despite that fact, Alex Ferguson has decided that he has had enough of the players childish tantrums and attention seeking ways. The manger has started to turn his head elsewhere, in hopes of bringing the next big thing to the club, that would see Rooney be knocked off his throne even further than he has already fallen.
The manager is currently trying to plan a possible move for AC Milan’s youngster Alexandre Pato. It was revealed after a series of questioning that the youngster was placed quite high on the manager’s priority list. The player has also become a fan favorite at the San Siro every since he arrived in Italy.
The fact that he is become such a hit, only leads to speculation that it would be close to impossible for United to try and sign him. This is because of the fact that AC Milan have stated that they would bot be looking to let go of the player for any price.
However that is something that countless clubs have said about countless players in the past. In the end it is all down to the fact, that the bigger the offer the more likely it is that the player will be on the move.
Pato could prove to be an overnight hit at Old Trafford if he does decide to make the move.
Pato has tremendous pace, great technique and a determination that can be rivaled by a few. He is also still young which means he has a lot of playing time still left in his career.
Pato, will however cost the team around forty five million pounds at the least, if the team does decide to make a formally approach for the Brazilian wonder kid. However United are still more than likely to not make any moves till the transfer window re opens next summer, since even if they do make a move for him in the winters, he would not be available for the team in any European contests. Considering how Alex Ferguson is one of the smartest managers around, he is more than likely to keep his cards close to his heart this season and play them once the season comes to a close.
That being said a move for Pato to Old Trafford could just be what the team needs to get their act together and get back to their level best again.
