Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson has gone on to claim that he is going to go up against Manchester City’s spending, by making his team produce some of the best performances the world has ever seen.
The two teams are currently set to take on each other this coming Sunday, in a Community Shield game, which would see the Premier League winners take on the FA Cup holders. Last time around, United beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 to secure the shield and are hoping to do the same, as they beat their arch rivals City to the punch.
When talking about City and their money spending ways, Ferguson is quoted to have said: "Because of the particular facet of the club that they have the money to spend, I thought maybe they would spend more this summer and that may still happen, they may still sign a couple more players”
The manager then went ahead and stated that he was more focused on helping his side win trophies, as opposed to those teams, who just spend money and don’t get very far.
"We get this almost every year when clubs round about us buy, and that's how you view the importance of winning the league these days.”
The manager then went on to mention Jose Mourinho, who had a great way of handling transfers in the market. Despite the former Chelsea manager spending big, he went on to produce a great team, with great chemistry. Ferguson feels that should City follow the same path, they might be able to produce a challenge, which would help United keep from getting complacent and would keep them on their toes.
"Chelsea had this great spell of buying when Jose first went there and we accepted that challenge. It's good to accept challenges, it keeps the complacency away from your door and we carry on as best as we can."
SO far City have gone on to make the signings of goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero at the club.
On the other hand, United have also been a little busy this summer, as they went on to capture http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903. All three of those players have been used in the team’s pre season and are looking all the more likely to face off against City, in the Community shield game.
With both team’s rearing to go, this coming Community Shield match, might just be the most highly contested pre season game, that both the team’s have participate in so far.
