Alex Ferguson wants to offload Dimitar Bebartov from Manchester United
Sir Alex Ferguson has been spending time over the summer scouting fresh new talent that needs to be injected to strengthen Manchester United for next season, but at the same time will also be offloading any liabilities in attempts to reduce the clubs total debt. It has been reported that Dimitar Berbatov may be the first to depart.
The 29-year old striker was signed from Tottenham Hostspur for £30.75m, and after considering the two seasons his had with the red devils it’s highly unlikely that the club will receive an offer of the same amount. £15m - £25m is a more realistic price-tag, and it’s been said that a few clubs have already shown interest.
Juventus and AC Milan are reported to be the front runners, both clubs keen on signing the Bulgarian and are reported to be willing to pay up to £18m for the forward who has netted 26 goals in 86 appearances.
Sir Alex is currently prepared to listen to all offers and will be evaluating what is best for the club. You’re probably aware of the clubs current financial situation since the Glazer takeover, and after refusing the offer from the Red Knights, it’s in the Scots best interest to sell some of his failing squad members to provide additional funds for some new talent.
Teams from Bundesliga sides are also keen on bringing Berbatov back to the league where he made his name, but it’s all going to come down to which team is willing to pay the most.
