Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson has admitted that he wouldn’t mind facing off against Manchester City in the final of the Europa League this season.
United are currently heading into their Europa League game against Ajax, after having picked up a two goals to nil win in the first leg. As a result, the Red Devils are being hailed as the favourites to make it to the next round of the tournament.
At the same time, United’s local rivals, Manchester City went on to beat Porto by six goals to one in their tie and have already ensured their progress to the next stage of the European competition.

City and United are currently squaring off in the Premier League, as both the teams have occupied the top two spots in the league table.
United are sitting in the second spot, with City possessing a two point lead over their opponents.
From the way things are shaping up, both the Manchester based teams could soon see themselves, squaring off in a completely different competition.
With City and United already being hailed as the favourites to win the Europa League, it wouldn’t be surprising to see both of them make it all the way to the finals of the tournament.
However, should that happen, it would be impossible to predict just would would in the game, given the nature of the rivalry between the two clubs and given the results that the teams tend to produce, when they face each other.
Nonetheless, what can be said assuredly is that a final with both the Manchester clubs in it, would prove to be one of the most entertaining games to ever take place in the Europa League.
