The visitors started the second half strongly and came close to scoring a goal, however, Darren Bent’s headed effort was equally matched by the goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953, who had no problem in getting hold of the ball.
McLeish was very disappointed with his side’s display and has rued the chances missed by the Villans.
The Villans boss told the reporters, “We went right at spurs and had a couple of little chances at the start of each half, but we never retained the ball and let them off."

The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 manager explained:
“The first one we hadn’t cleared the danger, we're leaving Adebayor on his own, you know he’s got to be picked up so you have to see it through until you clear the danger.
“The second one was the timing of the cross from Bale; we didn’t get the right connection behind it. Obviously it’s a shame that individuals get singled out for things like that but we’ve got to defend better,” Alex McLeish concluded.
It was Aston Villa’s third defeat of the season. The Villa Park outfit is currently placed eighth in the league standings with 15 points from 12 games.
