Aston Villa manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 McLeish has tipped the Villans’ potential transfer target, Charles N’Zogbia, to be a huge success and expects the Wigan winger to become a crucial player at the Villa Park next season.
Aston Villa are on the brink of signing N’Zogbia after the Birmingham club agreed a £9.5 million transfer fee with Wigan Athletic. However, the French international is yet to agree personal terms with the Villans.
Aston Villa boss admitted that N’Zogbia’s transfer to the Villa Park is almost done, as he told the reporters, "We believe everything else is just about there [on the N'Zogbia deal].”
The Villans’ manager believes the Wigan winger will be a great addition his squad and has asserted that N’Zogbia has the quality to replace the outgoing duo of Ashley Young and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221.
"Charles will be a great addition to the squad. He's an explosive player and he gives us an extra bit of quality that replaces one or two of the guys who have left the club.” McLeish enthused.
McLeish is a huge fan of the French international and has been trying to sign N’Zogbia for the past two seasons. The Villans’ boss was hugely impressed by Frenchman’s extraordinary contribution for Wigan Athletic in the dying fixtures of the recently concluded
2010/11 season.
N’Zogbia scored a brace in the second half against West Ham United to mark a historic win for the Latics, which also proved very crucial in their survival campaign.
“You've seen his exploits last season - especially at the tail-end of the campaign when he scored five or six goals in the last few games which were extremely important for Wigan to stay in the league.” He further added.
McLeish reckons N’Zogbia to be the perfect replacement of Stewart Downing. The Latics winger earned his first cap for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 last season and the Villans’ boss believes that N’Zogbia’s experience in international matches will be beneficial for Aston Villa
next season.
“We needed to replace Downing with similar quality.” Aston Villa boss concluded.
