“As a manager, you have to try and get the best you can out of every individual. That's what I'll do. Stephen Warnock has to resurrect his career,” stated McLeish.

“He was playing for England a year ago – you know how good he must be to have done that – and he's pushing himself again now. His enthusiasm is there,” continued the former Birmingham City boss.
However, McLeish admitted that Warnock still has to work on his fitness and is confident that the 29-year-old defender will be a crucial member of his squad next season.
“If anything, the fitness guys have actually had to try and rein him in,” McLeish concluded.
Despite spending most of the time on the bench, Stephen Warnock featured in 22 matches for Aston Villa last season.
