Arsenal attacker and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 Under 21 international, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has gone on to reveal that he just can’t wait for Arsenal to take on Tottenham Hotspur.
The two North London clubs are set to take on each other in a derby and the way things are shaping up at the club, Chamberlain might just go on and take party in his first ever derby game.
The youngster has admitted that he has never really been a part of such a fierce rivalry and mentioned that in his Southampton days, the closest he came, was when he took on Bournemouth.
The eighteen year old player is quoted to have said: "The closest I got to [a derby] was Southampton v Bournemouth but I think that was more of a derby for Bournemouth rather than Southampton fans.”
"I obviously haven't been involved in a north London derby yet but the boys have all been telling me what a massive occasion it is.”
However, with no guarantee of the player making the team just yet, he has gone on to admit that he would be happy with just being present during the game to try and spur his side on. The player knows that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 might just be fit for the game and this might drop him to the bench, or even off the squad list altogether. Despite that fact, Chamberlain is not holding back and he seems to have finally connected with Arsenal and now knows what it feels like to be a Gunner.
"Just to be involved in the squad in any game, I am honoured to do that. If I am on the bench or in the starting line-up, I’ll just be happy to be there and I’ll give my all to help the boys out and try and get another win to build on our momentum."
Ever since Chamberlain signed for the Gunners, he has been put under the microscope with everyone questioning Arsene Wenger’s decision to buy the player. However, in the few appearances that the player has made for the team, he has gone on to massively impress everyone with his performances. The player even went on to make his Champions League debut this past week and scored the opening goal in the game, that helped http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 cruise to victory.
Due to the brilliance that Chamberlain has been producing on the pitch, Wenger might just cave in and give the player the opportunity to play in his first every derby to really prove his worth to the Gunners fans.
