Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain confident over winning trophies with Arsenal – Premier League Update
Arsenal youngster and former Southampton player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted that he is quite confid3ent over the fact that Arsenal can end their trophy drought this season and return to their former glory.
The winger/midfielder was signed by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 for a fee worth around fifteen million pounds and he went on to make his first ever start for the team against Shrewsbury Town in the Carling Cup.
Arsenal went down to their opponents during the early stages of the game, but managed to draw level before the end of the second half. In the second half of the game, it was all about Chamberlain as the attacker displayed some brilliant football and even
managed to score a belter of a goal from some thirty yards out.
Nonetheless, it seems like Chamberlain, along with the rest of the Gunners squad is being rather optimistic at the moment and hoping to end the Gunners trophy drought this season.
The youngster, when talking about his team and their chances of winning something this season is quoted to have said: “I think it is a really good squad. I think we just need to keep plugging away and it will come right for us.”
“I think we have what it takes to get to the final in this competition and put in a good claim in the Premier League and the FA Cup too.”
The winger admitted that the sides win over Shrewsbury was massive for him and the club, as apart from picking up the win, it gave the younger members of the squad a confidence boost, which could be crucial to them performing for the team throughout the
season.
“It was a massive game for us", he said. "Even though you may say it is against lesser opposition, we still had to bounce back from the result at the weekend, put a statement down and make sure we qualified for the next round.”
Arsenal are now set to take on Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League this coming weekend and the team are going to need to pick up all three points from the game, if they are to stand any chance of salvaging their season.
Given the brilliant performance that Chamberlain put in during the Carling Cup, he is more than likely to be given a spot on the team’s bench and is quite possibly going to be brought on to try and mix things up for the team.
It is now up to Chamberlain to produce some brilliant performances and cement his spot as a regular for the Gunners.
